"Southern California's Best Kept Secret--the Santa Clarita Valley"
Discover the beauty of the Santa Clarita Valley! Low crime, a sunny climate, and friendly people make Santa Clarita the place to work, play and stay!
Santa Clarita is one city that reflects all the best of the Golden State...past, present and future. With its unique blend of rural, old west heritage and urban sophistication, this fast-growing city has established an enviable balance between quality living and quality growth. That balance is carefully maintained through long-term planning and fiscal responsibility, community involvement, respect for the environment, and strong public and private support for business development.
Santa Clarita's successes are evident in its residential neighborhoods and recreational attractions, in its business parks and its cultural, commercial, educational and health care centers.
More business professionals are taking a close look at how Santa Clarita has accomplished so much in the few years since its 1987 incorporation. California Business magazine named Santa Clarita the second best mid-sized city in the state in which to do business, and City and State magazine named Santa Clarita as one of the top five "up and coming" cities in the nation.
Location and Climate
The Santa Clarita Valley is located 35 miles north of downtown Los Angeles off the Golden State Freeway (I-5), and encompasses 46.7 square miles of the approximately 200-square mile Santa Clarita Valley. Here you will find a land of rugged natural beauty surrounded by the lofty Santa Susanna and San Gabriel mountain ranges. The Santa Clarita Valley is considered to be a part of the “60 mile circle” known for its accessibility to Southern California’s major attractions including airports and ocean venues. Connected to Interstate 5, Highway 126, and the Antelope Valley freeway 14, the Santa Clarita Valley is also a short distance from the Mojave Desert, Bakersfield and the popular coastal destinations of Ventura and Santa Barbara. Santa Clarita offers everything from homes nestled between rolling hills to horse ranches with enchanting sunsets.
Santa Clarita enjoys a mild Southern California Mediterranean climate. Summers are dry and warm in the 75 to 100 degree range, while the winters are temperate and semi-moist in the 40 to 65 degree range. Santa Clarita receives between 15 to 18 inches of rain, primarily between November and March.
